Weekly
Classes: Atelier (Studio) Program |
| Secrets
from the Masters |
The
Atelier, or weekly art class, is based upon the
European Classical tradition and designed for students
who want the benefits of intensive workshops combined
with the continuity, momentum and progressive, long-term
development of a weekly program. They also enjoy
the comraderie and experience of painting with other
artists working towards similar goals.
|
The
weekly demonstrations and painting projects teach
the foundations of European Classical through Nineteenth-century
painting--Classicism, Baroque, Rococo, Realism,
Naturalism, French and American Impressionism and
Tonalism; and the skills to paint nude and clothed
figures, portraits, children, still lifes, street
scenes, landscapes and gardens. Each week, Craig
Srebnik demonstrates and explains concepts,
principles and techniques, followed by individual
instruction as the students apply the lessons to
their own artwork. He gives students the understanding
and skills to develop their own vision and artistic
voice by passing on "Secrets of the Masters"--gained
from his research in the U.S., Europe and from his
own painting experience.
|
The
Atelier Program is open to artists at all levels,
from beginner to professional, as individual instruction
is tailored to each student's needs and goals.

| "I
started the Atelier program as a novice painter
and within a year I was exhibiting my paintings
and teaching. The program focuses on concepts,
principles and techniques so that each artist
develops the ability to express their own
artistic vision."

| "Having
admired Craig Srebnik's skillful and sensitive
portrayals of the human figure for many years,
I was thrilled at the chance to study with
him. My enrollment at Atelier Srebnik has
greatly impacted my own figure work, through
Craig's enlightenment of classical academic
painting methods and an in-depth study of
figure structure. Extremely generous with
his knowledge, Craig is entirely committed
to the advancement of his students' work."

| "Craig
Srebnik taught me the anatomical structure
and form of the human figure in the context
of drawing and painting--that you can't learn
anywhere else."

| "Artists
need to understand human anatomy--especially
the skeletal structure and musculature-in
terms of three-dimensional form and movement,
combined with artistic qualities like beauty,
harmony and proportion. Srebnik has this knowledge
to offer to you."
